Summer Solstice

The days have grown longer and the flowers have bloomed. Warm weather, outings with friends, and the scent of SPF is in the air. This solstice marks the beginning of summer but also the longest day of the year. Each following day will grow shorter as we move towards the autumn equinox in September. Solstices and equinoxes mark the cardinal signs in the zodiac, because they represent beginnings. The summer solstice begins Cancer season, so if you’re a Cancer sun, happy birthday! Cancer energy is very focused on healing and nurturing with an emphasis on the home. This would be a great time to redecorate your home or do a deep clean. This would also be an excellent day for self-care or pampering. You could include some sun magic too, and place your sun safe crystals outdoors to soak up the energy. Some examples of crystals that are okay in the sun are: Black Obsidian, Carnelian, Labradorite, Moonstone, Sunstone, and Tourmaline. This is not an exhaustive list though, be sure to do your own research as well. If you follow along the themes of the cardinal signs we have: Aries – the individual, Cancer – the caretaker, Libra – the partner, and Capricorn – the provider. So, we see that the theme behind this solstice is caring for ourselves and others. Embracing our emotional health and of course setting boundaries when necessary. Use this time to get back in touch with yourself and your needs, fill your cup so that you may be able to pour for others. The solstice is on the 21st which falls on a Monday for many people, but it’s okay to celebrate early! Below are some fun ideas to do to celebrate based on your sun sign 💛

Aries - try out a new skin care routine or new exercise style

Taurus - bake your favorite dessert and brew some sweet tea

Gemini - journal your new ideas and listen to your favorite music from your youth

Cancer - take a relaxing bath and cook a new recipe
